Leadership

Jair Lecky, M.Ed

Staff Head

Jair is from Woodbridge, VA, but strongly claims his Jamaican roots from his immigrant parents.  For undergrad, he went to VCU & double majored in Psychology and Social Work. During his undergraduate experience, he was involved in service based organizations such as The Carver Promise & VCU ASPiRE. He was also involved in Residential Life and Housing where he was President of his Hall, and a Resident Assistant for multiple years.

Knowing that he wanted to continue working in higher education, he decided to continue his education & go to graduate school. He returned to VCU & received his Master's in Counselor Education, with a concentration in College Counseling and Student Affairs. While in graduate school, he had the honor of serving on the Graduate Student Association where he was Vice President, then President. Additionally, during grad school, he became a full time staff member at VCU starting out in Residential Life and Housing as an Assistant Hall Director, before transitioning to his current job in the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs as the Program Manager for Men of Color Initiatives.

Whenever he gets free time, he enjoys watching basketball games (go Celtics), working out, singing & listening to/writing music, playing video games (catch him maining Fuse in Apex Legends), and trying out new recipes. Serving Men of Color within this role is such an honor to him, and he is excited to work with you all this school year!
