From: The Underground: Student Organization Resources Center Date: December 5, 2024 Subject: Student Org Newsletter 12/5: Closing the Semester
Organizations that did not receive annual funding are eligible to apply for semester funding from the Student Government Association. Applications are due January 31st. IFB Funding Spring Application here.
Additionally, here is spring semester funding information from the desk of the IFB Chair:
Dear VCU Registered Student Organizations,
I write to you with great consideration regarding the Spring Funding Application for the upcoming academic year. Student organization funding approvals were higher than normal for the past two years due to the unspent funds from the pandemic. The Independent Financial Board has exhausted the rollover funds allocated to registered student organizations this year and cannot accommodate the higher requests for this coming year.
The Student Funding Board has begun a thorough assessment to ensure the equitable distribution of student funds. While funding is not a guarantee we anticipate registered student organizations will be able to request up to $750 in funding for the upcoming spring semester.
We acknowledge the challenges this may pose however, we assure you that every effort will be made to navigate this situation with prudence, fairness, and equality across all student organizations. We recognize that student organizations provide a valuable service to the VCU community and want to continue honoring the vibrant VCU student experience.
Sincerely,
Trey Mount
Chair, Internal Financial Board
