Mission The purpose of the Public Health Student Association (PHSA) is to further the mission of the VCU School of Population Health. The PHSA wishes to expand upon the mission of the VCU School of Population Health by fostering fellowship, promoting professional development, engaging in activities that assist in academic success, and being of service to the greater community. Our association aims to provide experiential learning, service work opportunities, professional development, social events, networking events, and academic assistance to current MPH/PhD students in the VCU School of Population Health Department of Epidemiology.
Membership BenefitsLunch-And-Learns: experts in a field will present on a topic they are knowledgeable about/interested in while we host lunchHost community volunteer events such as volunteering at FeedMore, CARITAS, etc.Have networking events with faculty/staff, public health officials, and community workersHave fellowship events centered around Public Health (EX: themed Halloween bash)Provide academic assistance to students or host group study sessionsSend out monthly newsletters to keep students informed about service opportunities, community events, professional development opportunities, and important public health news.
