About Us

Who Are We?

1. The HyperLabs at VCU team is a robotics student org that organizes and runs hands-on workshops to teach students practical robotics & engineering skills. All majors & skill levels are welcome to join!

2. Our Vertically Integrated Project(VIP) Team acts as our research and competing branch. This is a hands-on experience and learning research-based class that gives you a VCU credit to help us go to competitions and conferences!

3. We are a team of students from the disciplines of engineering, business, humanities & science, medical, arts, and more.

3. We encourage our members to collaborate with students from various backgrounds and disciplines to broaden their skills and expertise in engineering concepts, product design, communication, teamwork, and project execution. By doing so, they can better align with and contribute to our club's overarching goals and vision.

Why Join HyperLabs?

Want to learn new things and gain lifelong skills and experiences at VCU? Joining HyperLabs will challenge your perspectives while integrating your knowledge and skills into different projects. With others, you will collaborate to find out how things work and how they are built, all from the very ground up.

Purpose/Innovation

1. Build students' communication, leadership, teamwork, engineering, and robotics skills through hands-on learning and real-world experience.

2. Build students' communication, leadership, teamwork, engineering, and robotics skills through hands-on learning and real-world experience.

3. Research: Give students a place to learn in a more academically guided setting through Research and Competition. Our current competition is to design and construct a fully autonomous robotic vehicle to compete in the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC).

4. Public Relations & Fundraising: Establish and secure enough funding to host our workshops, build a robot for competition, build research projects for conferences, advertise our brand and robot, successfully operate the organization, and raise money through marketing efforts, including social media, word-of-mouth, etc.

All VCU students who support the mission of our organization are welcome to participate in programs and events. This organization does not restrict membership based on race, color, religion, national origin (including ethnicity), age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), parenting status, marital status, political affiliation, military status (including veteran status), genetic information (including family medical history), sexual orientation, gender identify, gender expression, or disability.
