The mission of this organization is to represent and serve the 59 members of VCU's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Class of 2023. For our members, we will strive to create a positive student experience, promote professional growth, and facilitate active involvement in the physical therapy profession. We hope to accomplish this through offering service opportunities that not only give back to the community but also foster PT-specific skill development, through hosting fundraising events for the Marquette Challenge, which raises money for PT-specific research, and by organizing events that enhance student satisfaction and the student experience.

To be the support we need. AntiBlack racism affects us all, some beneficially because of privilege, and many more adversely. We cannot address our racism while being ableist, we cannot support Queer genders and sexualities through racism, we cannot imagine religious freedom when our imagination is shackled by racist narrative. Addressing antiBlack racism specifically allows us to build a world where we can focus on those multiply marginalized, instead of making conversations about race a supplemental brand of knowledge. The complexity of these issues are vast, and it is questionable to what extent a largely white faculty, teaching largely white curricula can build the antiracist pedagogy that their students demand. The collective is developing an interdisciplinary model for equitable antiBlack-racist education to protect Black lives unapologetically and end white supremacy in higher education.

We transport the beauty and vitality of nature indoors by partnering with VCU Health Volunteer Services to deliver flowers directly to patients’ rooms, ensuring each bouquet is personally gifted to an individual. Our aim is to brighten and comfort each patient’s stay while contributing to the sustainability of our community by repurposing florals.
