Our Mission
Our mission as Birders at VCU is to create a diverse, open-minded club focused on the love and pursuit of birdwatching, helping contribute to the broader birding community in Richmond and beyond. We aspire to increase access to birdwatching, avian science, and the birding community for all of our members, especially those of marginalized identities. Furthermore, we intend to enrich the academic and professional lives of our club members through introducing basic elements of avian ecology, and by increasing access to career resources in the natural sciences. In short, our mission is to create a community of shared joy, knowledge, and enthusiasm for birds.
