Join VCU’s Sustainable Transportation and RVA Rapid Transit on a journey around Richmond thrift stores using our fast and free public transportation system, GRTC. Learn how to navigate Richmond for free, while exploring Richmond’s fun thrift shops. Our journey will begin right in front of GRC on August 23, at 1 p.m., and we’ll have you back to Monroe Park by 3 p.m.

What to bring: We recommend bringing water, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.), and comfortable walking shoes. Be prepared for warm weather and moderate walking. We’ll point out a number of thrift stores on our bus route, then stop in Carytown to visit Buffalo Exchange, so bring $ and a bag if you’d like to shop!

Accessibility: GRTC buses are ADA-compliant, and all planned stops are accessible with good sidewalks. While the event includes some walking between bus stops and thrift shops, we welcome participants of all abilities. If you have specific accessibility needs or concerns, feel free to reach out in advance. All questions can be directed to commute@vcu.edu.
