All incoming VCU students are invited to Convocation, Ram Spirit Walk, and Weeks of Welcome Block Party on Monday, August 22.
No need to register in advance. Just meet us in Monroe Park at 3:15 pm on Monday, August 22. If you live on-campus, meet your RA to walk to the park, and if you live off-campus meet us in the park!
Schedule of Events
3:15 PM
New students are asked to join the fun at Monroe Park at 3:15 pm. Get your free tee-shirt and enjoy performances by the Peppas (VCU pep band), Rodney the Ram, and the VCU Cheerleaders.
4 PM
At 4 pm on the Monroe Park Main Stage, President Michael Rao , Coach Mike Rhodes, Vice President Tomikia LeGrande, and Student Government Association President Reena Pidaparti will lead Convocation for new students.
4:30 PM
Join the Ram Spirit Walk by parading from Monroe Park down Main Street to The Commons and then back to Monroe Park on Floyd Avenue.
5:30 to 8 PM
Once back in Monroe Park, the Weeks of Welcome Block Party begins at 5:30 pm with a DJ, followed by a live cover band (Attraction), inflatables and lawn games, and FREE dinner (new students only)! Food options include: Burrito and Cookout stations (vegetarian and vegan options will be available), Papa John's Pizza, popcorn, shaved ice, cotton candy, and nachos!
