Join us for the upcoming RecWell Party on the Plaza event on Wednesday, April 3, from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm ET, as we celebrate National Alcohol Screening Day! Prepare for an event packed with activities and educational sessions centered around alcohol and cannabis prevention and harm reduction. Attendees will also have the opportunity to partake in brief screenings to assess their individual relationships with alcohol and/or cannabis.

The student organization with the highest attendance will be awarded $150 in funding! All you need to do is register at the event and represent your organization for a chance to win this fantastic prize. Reserve your spot now by registering through this link.

TEDxVCU: Ripple is bringing a wide range of ideas worth spreading from students, staff, faculty, and alumni to the VCU community! This event will provide an interdisciplinary look at the changing world around us through varied TEDx Talks to build lasting connections in our community; they may even cause a ripple in your own perspective. All students, staff, and faculty are invited to attend.

Join us for a day of community service sponsored by the VCU Division of Community Engagement! On Tuesday, April 2nd, we'll be prepping various areas for painting. Then, on Wednesday, April 3rd, we'll transform these spaces into vibrant outdoor learning and play areas for the students and teachers. Whether you can join us for one day or both, your assistance is invaluable. No artistic skills are required and all supplies be provided.

Come join VCU SGA in our annual "The Big Event" Free food, music, and t-shirts for volunteers on Saturday, April 13th, 10am-2pm. Event kickoff and Grab and Go Breakfast at West Grace North Residence Hall located at 830 West Grace Street in the 1030 J Classroom. 

The Big Event at VCU is a one-day, student-run service project where Rams come together to say “Thank You” to the residents of Richmond. VCU SGA is excited to provide leadership and vision for a tradition that shows our appreciation to the surrounding community, completing service projects such as yard work and painting for residents of Richmond. We share in the mission of similar programs throughout the nation - "One Big Help, One Big Day." Please register here, and show up at West Grace North between 9:45 and 10:00am on April 13th! Free food from local RVA restaurants will be provided. 
The RVA Office of Elections is hosting the "I Voted" sticker contest this year. The contest is open to all VCU students and are taking design submissions from now until April 1st.

Purchase requests are being accepted in RAMorgs until midnight on Wednesday, April 3rd. Please note that exceptions will not be granted to those who submit purchase requests after the stated deadline.

Please note, SGA funding cannot be used for programming/travel/etc. after the last date of classes on the Monroe Park Campus, Friday, May 3rd.

Don't forget that student organizations now have access to reserve for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semester Student Center meetings! The EMS template is NOW OPEN and will remain open through June 30th 2025.  This will be exclusive access to reserving all your major events and general body meetings before the space opens up to the rest of campus starting in April. 

Need help reserving a room in the Commons? Check out the Student Organization Event Forum on March 20th at 3pm to ask Event Services questions about room reservations and share your feedback about the process. The forum is open to all VCU student organizations.

Event Services can also help move reservations under incoming student leadership for easy transition.

Apply for funding for your summer experience through the VCU Internship Funding Program! Don't let your funding needs cause you to miss out on opportunities for personal and professional development. Funding will be awarded as a direct deposit and can be used to supplement costs for travel to your internship, housing, childcare, professional attire, supplies, and more!

Summer 2024 applications are open now and close Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Complete and eligible student applications will go through a competitive selection process that includes multiple rounds of review by a committee of approximately 40 faculty and staff from both campuses. Funding is not guaranteed to all applicants, but we hope to support as many students as possible. We will notify awardees by mid-to-late April and expect funding to be dispersed by mid-May. For questions, contact Jeanette Hickl at jwhickl@vcu.edu.

Miracles in Motion is a local non-profit organization that provides quality dance instruction to people with special needs while promoting awareness in the community through the joy of dancing! We are looking to add more volunteers to our team to help with our current classes, our upcoming recital, and our summer camp we hold for two weeks in July. No dance experience is necessary!
