Hi SEA,

Hopefully relaxation was on the agenda for your break (or at least, catching up on some work!) Lots going on in the coming weeks and months, so let’s get ready to tackle the back half of this semester together! Fair warning, this newsletter is on the long side- but trust us, it's packed with useful information and great opportunities.

If you haven’t already, join the SEA GroupMe and fill out the poll with your preferred T-shirt size by THIS FRIDAY. No charge for the shirts, you just need to be a current member of SEA (read: you have attended or plan to attend at least 2 meetings this semester).

Meeting: Tuesday, March 21st

If you're considering grad school, our next meeting is for you! Next Tuesday, Economics Department Chair and Professor Oleg Korenok will be joining us to talk about graduate education and the difference between MA, MBA, and PhD's.

Even if you're not sure what your path will be after getting your bachelor's, Professor Korenok's talk is sure to get you thinking about your options!

This meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 7pm in Snead Hall room B2173. Register here.

March is Women's History Month

We’re showing our appreciation for some of VCU’s female economics professors with a spotlight series. Follow our Instagram (@sea_vcu) to find out more about these wonderful professors!

Tom Barkin’s Coming to Town

True, he’s often in town (given his role as president and CEO of the Richmond Fed and all). But it isn’t often that we get the chance to hear him speak in-person, so let’s seize the opportunity! Join us at the next RABE Luncheon, held on Monday, April 17 from 12-1:45.

*The event is $15, but VCU students can send payment confirmation to The.Econ.Club@gmail.com with the subject line “Tom Barkin RABE” before April 17th and we will reimburse the cost! Register here.*

If you have any questions or would like more info about anything related to SEA, reach out to the.econ.club@gmail.com or message us in the GroupMe. Good luck with your studies throughout the rest of this semester!

Best,
SEA

P.S. If you're still reading, enjoy this joke!

Three econometricians went out hunting, and came across a large deer. The first econometrician fired, but missed, by a meter to the left. The second econometrician fired, but also missed, by a meter to the right. The third econometrician didn't fire, but shouted in triumph, "We got it! We got it!"
