Student Literary Association's Official Statement

As a registered non-political student organization, this is SLA’s statement based on the guidelines laid out the VCU student handbook regarding non-political or religious student orgs.

First and foremost, the Student Literary Association has always aimed to give voice to diverse and under-appreciated perspectives through the books we read. From the way we run our club to the democratically voted on books where all members have a voice in what we read, SLA strives to be a safe space for all VCU students to find community and belonging. SLA is here to support students at VCU and our members.

SLA cannot and should not be your source of information on this matter, but we felt it was important to point club members and community members to some helpful and informative resources found by some of our club members.

Here are some of those resources found by some of our club members: https://linktr.ee/vcuworkers?lt_utm_source=lt_share_link#382454220

VCU is home to some amazing cultural student organizations and activism based student organizations. We urge you to explore some of the work being done by these orgs.
