The Judiciary Committee is the Judicial Branch of the Student Government Association; they hold hearings for the other branches of the SGA and students at VCU. The Judiciary ensures the constitutionality of acts within SGA, including the ethics of the election processes, internal conflicts, and ensuring that the bylaws are upheld. Through mediating disputes and disagreements between student organizations, providing judicial interpretations, and organizing hearings for student organizations to state their grievances, the Judiciary is a resource for the student body as well.
The Associate Justices serve 2-year terms and are tasked with projects to assess the bylaws and constitution by reviewing the materials for clarity and conciseness. They give their opinion in judicial opinions or decisions that are put out by the Judiciary in the event of a hearing.
