About Us

The Debate Society of VCU aims to promote critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills through providing students the platform and opportunity to hold nuanced conversations about current affairs and issues of significance, such as global poverty, climate change, state conflicts, and politics. This organization also aims to maintain success as an intercollegiate debate team competing in national collegiate debate leagues. We strive to uphold inclusivity and a respect for civil discourse through debating problems that impact our modern society.
