About Us
The Society of Bioinformatics exists to address all matters in the best interest of the organization body and the bioinformatics community at VCU:
i. Serve as a representative for bioinformatics undergraduate students in all VCU-related events and activities.
ii. Create a networking platform across the entirety of the bioinformatics community, including mentoring between undergraduates and graduates, staying connected to current and previous undergraduate students, and promote bioinformatics job and research opportunities in the Greater Richmond area.
iii: Plan, promote, and execute a variety of social and educational events to enhance fellowship, personal growth, and enjoyment of the bioinformatics student body and the larger bioinformatics community.
iv: Increase awareness of bioinformatics programs available at Virginia Commonwealth University to current and future students.
