About Us
The mission of RamsRead is to improve literacy skills amongst children in underserved Richmond communities by pairing VCU students with elementary schoolers for consistent, one-on-one weekly reading support. RamsRead aims to foster a love for reading and develop strong academic foundations in local children, while creating meaningful mentorship connections between college students and young leaders. By promoting literacy, especially at a time when functional literacy is so rare and yet so crucial, RamsRead hopes to help close opportunity gaps and support long-term success in the local community.
