About Us

The mission and purpose of the Iraqi Student Organization are to provide a safe space to appreciate, understand and spread awareness of Iraqi history, society, and culture. Through social events, educational lectures, and cultural celebrations, students of all backgrounds can learn and understand how Iraqi culture and people fit into the Virginia Commonwealth University campus and contribute to the global perspectives of the student body community. The Iraqi Student Association will serve to benefit both the Iraqi and non-Iraqi populations by uniting all those who are interested in a non-discriminatory manner. The Iraqi Student Organization will provide diversity and new perspectives to Virginia Commonwealth University.
