About Us

The Graduate Writers Association (GWA) assists in the funding and organization of events for Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of English and facilitates the involvement of graduate students in literary readings and other projects. The primary purpose of GWA is to schedule and host Moveable Feast, the graduate student reading series, which showcases fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and other alternative modes of writing. The Moveable Feast reading series is a cornerstone of the MFA program and provides a platform for writers to present creative work to the greater VCU and Richmond community. Moveable Feast also serves as the final thesis presentation for third-year MFA students graduating from the program.
