How Does It Work?

- Every year, the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) releases a case to be used for competition that season

- Undergraduate students compete in tournaments as members of 6-10 person teams representing their college / university

- Students compete in regional competitions, presenting the case 4 times: twice as the Prosecution (in a criminal case) or the Plaintiff (in a civil case) and twice as the Defense

- Teams are scored based on their performances, and the winners move on to the next round of competition!
