Our mission is to support, mentor, and educate Type 1 Diabetics and allies on how to live holistically, healthier lives through group support and advocacy. We also encourage mentorship to younger adolescence in the surrounding Richmond City School District. If you are Type 1 or an ally, consider joining today!
As a member of the Alpha Beta Club, you will have the opportunity to mentor adolescence students at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Additionally, your volunteer work in spreading awareness in the community about T1D will allow us to raise donations to JDRF and The American Diabetes Association. Each academic year, members are eligible for a detailed Letter of Recommendation that would look great on a resume!
Join us at JDRF Walks for exercise and raising awareness for T1D! Come learn how to cook diabetic friendly meals! Spend time with us at our yearly amusement park trip!
Receive a Letter of Recommendation for your admirable work! Apply for an officer position to bring your ideas and change to our community!
Make life long friendships with our members! Meet students with similar struggles! Come be the change of the T1D community here in Richmond!
Thank you for clicking on our club page! If this is your first year at VCU, welcome! If you are here because you heard about our club, we want to welcome you to a community of Type 1 Diabetic students that are here to support you and one another throughout your time at VCU. You will find that joining our club will not only help you connect with people who share similar experiences as you, but also build friendships that could potentially last a lifetime. We hope that you will join us in making a difference here at VCU and the Richmond community by facilitating inclusivity and awareness in our diverse community. Go Rams!
